Family Support Services

The following services are free and are provided primarily at our Main Office building at 2079 Columbia Ave in Trail.  They can be reached through the main switchboard at: 250-364-2326

Children’s Communication School Groups focus on communication and social skills enhancing self-esteem, managing emotions, dealing with bullying and coping with change.  Groups for children aged 6-12 are held at local Elementary Schools where the children have been referred by the administrative/teaching staff there.

Children’s Support Services offer support, socialization and skill development for children from families563 in crisis or in need of extra support.  Focus is on social and recreational activities in the community.  Includes supervised visitation of parents with children when authorized by the Ministry of Family Development.

Family Support/Parent Educator Program offers support and education for parents in order to enhance parenting skills and improve a family’s ability to cope.  Services are offered one-to-one or in group settings.
All these programs are funded by the Ministry of Children and Family Development, and community donations
