| Description: | Monday to Friday 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. Provides assessment, treatment, emergency response, psychiatric assessment and support services to all adults (age 19 and over) with acute, severe or persistent mental disorders. For the elderly, a Psychogeriatric team provides assessment, recommendations for treatment and consultation. Reasons to refer include concerns about memory, judgement or increased confusion, deterioration in personal care, behaviour changes which are dangerous to self or others, caregiver stress. Support and education services to families and caregivers. Open referral system.
