Family Support Services

The following services are free and are provided primarily at our Main Office building at 2079 Columbia Ave in Trail.  They can be reached through the main switchboard at: 250-364-2326

Children’s Communications Groups focus on communication and social skills enhancing self-esteem, managing emotions, dealing with bullying and coping with change.  Groups for children aged 6-12 are held at local Elementary Schools where the children have been referred by the administrative/teaching staff there.

Children’s Support Program offers support, socialization and skill development for children from families in crisis or in need of extra support.  Focus is on social and recreational activities in the community.  Also includes supervised visitation of parents with children when authorized by the Ministry of Children and Family Development.

The Family Support/Parent Education program offers support and education for parents in order to enhance parenting skills and improve a family’s ability to cope.  Services are offered one-to-one or in group settings, to meet the diverse needs of families in the Greater Trail area.

Muffins and Munchkins is a free, drop-in group open to children 0-5years and their parents/caregivers.  It runs Wednesday mornings and pre-registration is not required.  Click here to open a PDF copy of the poster for this group.
