Mental Health & Substance Use Consumer, Family and Peer Support Program.  This program works with citizens with mental health & addiction concerns and their families in order to support & assist2013 June 019 them in understanding mental health services & to develop initiatives for change.  A twice-monthly support group is hosted for family members and friends to share, ask questions and connect.  Click here for more information about this drop-in group.

Also offers “Mental Health First Aid” training for front-line community workers.    Serves the entire West Kootenay Boundary Region.

Nova Vita Second Stage Housing is a supportive, independent accommodation for women (with or 045without children) who have left abusive relationships or experienced past abuse and can benefit from a 1-year individualized program in order to deal with these issues.  The focus is on the development of life skills, achievement of individual goals and connections to community resources.  A brief stay in a Transition House is required prior to admission.  All Mail can be sent to our Main office at 2079 Columbia Ave   Trail BC  V1R 1K7.

Specialized Victim Services is a local Legal Aid partner, which mean they can help you help you:
•get free legal information;
•call Legal Aid;
•find your nearest Legal Aid office;
•get legal help online; and
•connect with people who can help.
This program also collects and recycles used cell phones to either re-distribute as emergency phones to at-risk community members or send to recycling as a fundraiser (depending on condition)

Advocacy Centre Staff Hosting.  FAIR is pleased to continue to host staff from The Advocacy Centre in Nelson on a regular basis who provide FREE legal Advocacy to community members.  Appointments must be made through the Advocacy Centre.

The Volunteer Income Tax program has outgrown our space.  Each spring, the Volunteer Income Tax Program runs services in 5 locations in the Greater Trail area.  As of 2018 the Wednesday services have moved to the Royal Canadian Legion building just a few doors down from us.
